I hope you girls had a nice Labor Day weekend! We spent most of ours at a Hockey Tournament and finished up at my sister, Katherine's house for a wonderful barbeque dinner. Her house is looking great, by the way, so don't believe her when she tells you she has decorating paralysis.
Our Most Points Winner for August is Melissa Holgate at Seven Matters! Melissa has been faithfully doing the Small Things since the very beginning and always amazes me with her Company Girl spirit! She will be receiving the Anita Renfroe DVD and the Lisa Whelchel book. Way to go, Melissa!
Our Random Drawing winner is Joyce, a new Company Girl who just completed her very first month of Small Things. Joyce has a darling daughter and has some terrific recipes on her site. (Check out her Baked Peaches recipe....I've GOT to try it!) Congratulations, Joyce, you will be getting the book by Kathy Troccoli!
I will be announcing the prizes for September's Small Things tomorrow, so stay tuned for that.
Sherry emailed me with a wonderful surprise that I want to share with you! She started a new blog DEDICATED TO HER OWN HOME SANCTUARY to help her keep track of her own progress each day! It's almost like an online journal of her Small Things, and I am so excited. Seeing what she is doing each day inspires ME! I hope you'll go check out her blog, and maybe think about doing one yourself.
And that brings me to asking for your input:
I've tried to think of ways in which we could share our Small Things experiences that would be easy. I really feel like we have a little community of Company Girls and I would love to expand it in some way to include your thoughts and ideas. I love when readers leave a link in their comments to something on their blogs, and that's a good way to connect. Sherry's solution is a very exciting one, but I know some of you bloggers might not be up to keeping another blog. One thought might be to add a Mr. Linky after each post, so that if you post about a particular Small Thing you could link up and we could come visit you. I've hesitated to do that because I haven't wanted a pathetic plea for participation at the end of my posts.
But how can we make it easier to visit each other? My blog roll is huge, but that's a bit overwhelming to try and visit names on it without really knowing who is actually participating.
So I'm putting it out to you girls: if you have some ideas on how to make it easier to get to know other Company Girls, please email me or leave a comment. I look forward to your thoughts!
